February 8th, 2010Mobile Internet “Bigger Than Most Think”
October 26th, 2009
Mobile internet usage is “bigger and will be bigger than most think,” according to Morgan Stanley analyst Mary Meeker’s bullish prediction. Presenting her report on internet trends and the economy at the Web 2.0 Summit in San Francisco on Tuesday, she said the overall tech industry was in recovery, and predicted that the mobile internet was the “next major computing cycle,” based on what she called the “explosive Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) iPhone / iTouch ramp.” Mobile internet usage, Meeker predicts, will “surprise to upside for years to come.” » Read more: Mobile Internet “Bigger Than Most Think”

Digicel InTunes Review…Signup Experience ok, Tones too expensive
September 7th, 2009
Digicel inTunes
Digicel is known as a cutting-edge company so it was no surprise to me when they launched custom ring back tones (tones people hear when they dial your number), calling them ‘InTunes’.
I tested the system last week to see how easy it was and how well it worked. I actually found the InTunes site via an ad on Facebook but I find it very odd that Digicel did not create an easier url for people to be able to type in directly. The logical one would be intunes.digicel.com but the actual url is http://digicelintunes.digicelgroup.com:8081/crbtuser/. » Read more: Digicel InTunes Review…Signup Experience ok, Tones too expensive

Ringtone sales are dropping. Ringback Tunes rising. Hmm
September 3rd, 2009Ringtone sales are dropping. That shouldn’t be news to anybody.According to a study by SNL Kagan a media intelligence firm, ringtone sales for 2007 were US$714 million and dropped 24% in 2008 to $541 million. It’s not all doom and gloom for ringtone sales, however. Sales of ringback tones have increased from $176 million in 2007 to $199 million in 2008. A ringback tone is the song that plays instead of the ringing tone when you call somebody else.
Ubertwitter now the most popular twitter client for blackberry
September 3rd, 2009
As a Twitter and BlackBerry fanatic myself, I had to find out some more about this mobile phone app. It seems now that Ubertwitter now accounts for for 1.26 percent of Twitter users, almost doubling and beating out TwitterBerry’s 0.87 percent penetration according to TwitStat. I tried Twitterberry but with no ends of issues, then switched to Ubertwitter and whoaa, yeah…that worked and well. While TwitterBerry, perhaps because of its obvious name, has long been ubiquitous with Twitter and BlackBerry, UberTwitter, my personal favorite, has actually risen to become the most popular client for the device. » Read more: Ubertwitter now the most popular twitter client for blackberry
